Word of Life Jail and Prison Ministry is a partner and outreach ministry with Calvary Chapel Garland. We are a nondenominational, nonprofit Christian prison ministry that began in 2003 ministering to one young man and since then has been blessed by God to minister to over 1100 men and woman in prison across America. The purpose of this ministry is to reach inside the walls of prison, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ that is grounded solely in the Bible (2 Tim 3:16-17). The Bible speaks of the truth setting the captives free from the bondage of sin that has entangled their lives, giving them real hope, and new life that is found in Jesus Christ. In the Gospel of John chapter 10 verse 10 Jesus says, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”  The battle is real, but so is one’s victory in Jesus Christ. That is the reason Word of Life Jail and Prison Ministry reaches out to those behind the walls of jails and prisons with a bi-weekly mailing that consist of a letter of encouragement and a sermon/study that tells of the abundant life in Christ. Also, as the Lord provides books and Bibles are mailed to inmates. This is all done at no cost to the inmate. Also, Word of Life Jail and Prison Ministry has a pen-pal ministry where men and women write to a inmate of  the same sex to encourage and share in the fellowship with Jesus Christ.
